Readers of Green Builder magazine choose Premier’s high-performance structural insulated panels (SIPs) over other structural systems for green construction.
In recognition of their role in helping reduce home heating and cooling costs by up to 60%, Premier SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) have been honored as one of the “greenest structural system products” in the Green Builder magazine 2015 reader’s choice awards.
“We have long believed that SIPs are the future of construction, given their superior energy performance over other building systems,” said James Hodgson, General Manager for Premier SIPs. “It’s very encouraging to see that Green Builder magazine’s readers agree.”
With far fewer gaps to seal than stick framing, and with their continuous insulation, Premier SIPs are 15 times more airtight and offer 47% greater whole-wall insulation performance than traditionally framed homes. Premier SIPs provide several other green building benefits, including reducing jobsite construction waste by up to two-thirds, and helping improve indoor air quality by sealing out common pollutants. Additionally, the fast-installing panels offer builders a way to overcome ongoing shortages of skilled labor in the U.S.
