Green Builder Media’s 2016 Readers’ Choice results show quality and performance continue to be important in brand loyalty.
In recognition of their role in helping reduce home heating and cooling costs by up to 60%, Premier SIPS topped the ‘Greenest Structural System List’ in Green Builder Media’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards. This is the FIRST YEAR in which a SIP manufacture took the top position.
“We have long believed that SIPS are the future of construction, given their superior energy performance over other building systems,” said James Hodgson, General Manager for Premier SIPS. “It’s very encouraging to see that Green Builder magazine’s readers agree.”
With far fewer gaps to seal than stick framing, and with their continuous insulation, Premier SIPs are 15 times more airtight and offer 47% greater whole-wall insulation performance than traditionally framed homes. Premier SIPs provide several other green building benefits, including reducing jobsite construction waste by up to two-thirds, and helping improve indoor air quality by sealing out common pollutants. Additionally, the fast-installing panels offer builders a way to overcome ongoing shortages of skilled labor in the U.S.
Windows and insulation ranked number 1 and 2 as the categories that are “most influenced by green building and sustainability considerations” while GE took top honors as the brand associated most with sustainable products and environmental stewardship.
