Net Zero Energy Home, Seattle WA

The housing bubble had burst, the banks weren’t lending, and we were newlyweds who had no business even thinking about building a custom home, let alone Seattle’s first net-zero house.  We were attracted to an empty south-facing lot, one of the last undeveloped parcels in our neighborhood. Were we naïve to think we could make our dream of an affordable green home a reality?
