Project Overview
- Versatility in design allowed for large rood expanses with a cathedral ceiling
- Natural interior aesthetics without requiring finishing products
- Consistent internal temperature with SIPS helped with product regulation and quality control
- SIPS unquestionable qualify for Washington State's energy code requirements without excessive product materials or labor requirements
Benefits of SIPS:
SIPs were used to provide a natural finish to the ceiling, yet continuous insulation and strong roof decking for the gabled roof. The SIPs ceiling was left exposed for the natural/barn look.
Innovative Design Elements:
- Gabled style roof
- The warehouse is a wood-framed building with massive trusses made of reclaimed beams. These trusses were fabricated and assembled off-site, disassembled for transport, then reassembled on-site before being lifted into place.
- SIPS panels were used as the roof decking. A secondary lamination of plywood, to the bottom skin of the panels, was used to enable an interior ceiling that didn't require any additional finishing products. It was later stained for the finished ceiling.
HVAC:
Standard per Washington State Code. Extra ventilation systems for indoor air consistency
