Arizona Residence: First Time SIPs Install Crew Finds Fast Success

One benefit of Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) technology is the time saved installing pre-fabricated panels.  

This time-lapse video shows the installation of Floor, Wall & Roof Premier SIPS. For this install a part-time framing crew (ranging from three to six people depending on the day), with no prior SIPs experience was able to construct this Arizona residence (3300 SF) SF) in just 8 days.  

- Residence 2,566 SF, Studio, 230 SF and Garage 542 SF   
- 11,860 sq. ft. of Premier SIPs (floor, walls & roof)
- The home is oriented to take advantage of passive heating and cooling strategies, as well as distant mountain views. 
- A detached two car garage, studio and swimming pool are included.  
- A number of environmentally friendly materials and building systems are utilized throughout the project - in addition to SIPs.  
- Since the property lies in a FEMA controlled floodplain, the structure is raised off the desert floor to meet the federal requirements.
