Project Overview
Flagstaff Senior Meadows
Each structure was built with Premier SIPS and was carefully designed and cost about $12 million to build. One more feature makes this rental complex particularly appealing: It is geared toward and priced for low-income senior citizens. Many units have a terrific view of the Peaks, and the amenities include a clubhouse with a game room, laundry room and reading area.
- These units were oriented for passive solar.
- They also have solar panels.
- The solar panels provide 70 to 80 percent of the power needs of the community.
- They are tied to the grid and APS buys back unused power.
- Gables on the roof hold extra windows to bring in light.
- The rooftop boxes, looking like chimneys, hide pipes. Some units are entirely ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) approved with lower shelves, sinks and an accessible shower head.
- The sidewalks are ADA approved.
