End Use: The owners intend the upstairs to be for private living, and the downstairs for vacation rental
Why SIPs: The client wanted a very energy-efficient home, having used SIPs several times, they knew it was a perfect choice.
Benefits of SIPs: With labor, construction costs, and time, all combined with solar power this home is very energy efficient.
Innovative Design Elements: This home has many unusual angles and the roof falls in two directions, SIPs were done to perfection.
Blower Door Test: The home has natural air -2 pascals. All ventilation appliances turned on -5.7 pascals, ERV registered no change in pressure in the home, minimum leakage at -50 1180CFM, ACH-50 1.19.
HVAC: We used Carrier Mini split system thru out every room has its control.
Energy-Saving or Energy-Efficient Materials Used:
- We selected top end Marvin Window. These windows are energy efficient because the wind blowing on them can create a tighter seal.
- This home has full solar
- LED lighting throughout
- Highly efficient Bosch appliances
