Why SIPs:
The customer had purchased timber frame products from us and when he wanted to build his retirement cabin he came back to us and asked for the best. He was very happy with how quick it went up and is enjoying the energy efficiency of the Sip walls and roof.
Benefit of SIPs:
The project went together so quickly and created a very strong weather tight shell that allowed time to finish the interior and exterior in a more relaxed fashion as the weather tight shell was secure. The framers were great to work as they had never put up a timber frame or Sip Panels before and asked to work on our next project.
Innovative Design Elements:
The location is in the mountains and gets lots of snow so the structural values of the combination of the Douglas Fir Timber Frame and the Premier Sip Panels was ideal. The structural engineers were great to work with and verify the values needed for this special location.
Certifications: Plannnig to submit for some in the spring of 2025.
HERS: Will be completed after winter early 2025.
Blower Door: Will be completed after winter early 2025.
