Why SIPS?: This project was in the middle of a major wildfire and the original house was destroyed. By working with both the insurance company and FEMA they wanted a design that will meet the wildfire regulations in California. SIPs exceeded this condition and was able to provide a energy and sustainable product that exceeded all CalGreen requirements.
Benefits of SIPs: SIPs saved considerable construction cost, time and labor.
Innovative Design Elements: SIP spans on the roof enabled to have clean roof lines both interior and exterior.
Certifications: Bother Energy Start and National Green Building Standards where met to allow for Tax Credits both from the Federal Government and California State.
HVAC: HVAC was reduced by 65% using a heat pump type of system.
Solar: Solar panels were used with a 5.0 kw system
